Why are minorities always trying to make themselves feel better by making fun of white people? I moved to the U.S. from Pakistan 5 years ago and I have noticed this is a very common thing. WHY do they do this?
I have heard people say:
“White people tan because they secretly want to look like us”. Sunlight is good for the skin. It increases mood, health, and allows the body to rid itself of toxins. Plus, sunbathing just feels good.
“White men are jealous because we are taking their women”. First off, interracial dating is common in the U.S. and most people are not upset about it. Research shows that it is actually black women who are beginning to represent a majority of interracial marriages in recent years due to the high rates of incarceration, low education achievements, and cultural values among some black men.
“White people are racist”. Yes this is true. So are Black, Asian, Middle- Eastern, and Hispanic people. Research shows that black Americans commit premeditated hate crimes 2.25 times more than white Americans. Also, if you think the U.S. is racist, you should see Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Ukraine, and Egypt. THEN you will see what true racism is.
“White men can’t fight”. Fighting ability is based on experience. Statistically, there are many white men who live in suburban cities with low crime rates where fighting is not a necessity for everyday survival. If you have ever been to a European country such as Poland, Ukraine, Russia, or Bulgaria, you would know better than to make this stereotype.
“White people think they are better than everyone”. If you are an immigrant to the U.S. you should know better than to say make this assumption. EVERY country raises their kids to have pride in where they are from. In fact, I would say white Americans are even a little more humble than many African and Middle-Eastern countries.
“White women are whores”. This is true of everyone. There is an issue of promiscuity in the U.S., that is not limited to white people, but this is due to the cultural values of the country.
Yes I am aware that white Americans do this to. However, it seems as though they are criticized more when they do this. Also, I find it hypocritical that just because I am Pakistani, I am “forgiven” for stereotyping someone whereas if a white person did it, everyone loses their mind. Minorities seem to focus there stereotypes specifically on white Americans and they apply these stereotypes as if white people deserve it.
